If you’ve ever felt like you’re constantly thinking about your next snack, you’re not alone. For years, I believed the key to “healthy eating” was to eat small meals and frequent snacking. Why? Because Bob Harper from The Biggest Loser said that is the healthy way to eat. But the truth? That approach keeps you in a cycle of hunger, cravings, and energy crashes because every time you eat, your body releases insulin. Nowadays, I eat differently and there is no snacking. Not because I am restricting myself, but because I’m actually full. Here’s how I do it, and how you can too!

Why I Stopped Snacking
Snacking often feels harmless, but it can quietly work against your body, especially when it comes to blood sugar and hunger hormones. Every time we eat, especially carbs or sugar, we trigger an insulin response. When that happens over and over all day, it can:
- Keep your body in fat storage mode
- Increase cravings
- Lead to energy crashes
- Prevent your natural hunger cues from regulating
Instead of stabilizing your energy, constant snacking can actually create the hunger you’re trying to fix. Read that sentence again. It actually makes sense, doesn’t it? The goal here isn’t to “eat less”…it’s to eat better so your body doesn’t need constant fuel. When your meals are balanced correctly, you can go hours without thinking about food.

The Role of GLP-1
GLP-1 is a natural hormone that your body already produces. It helps to regulate:
- Appetite
- Blood sugar
- Satiety (that “I’m full” feeling)
When your GLP-1 levels are supported naturally, you feel satisfied longer, your cravings decrease, and your body becomes more efficient at using energy. But here’s the key…constantly spiking insulin (like frequent snacking) works against GLP-1. So instead of boosting this hormone, you’re suppressing it.
How I Eat to Stay Full (No Snacking Needed)
First, I prioritize protein. Every meal starts with protein. This is non-negotiable. Protein keeps you full longer, stabilizes blood sugar, and supports metabolism…aka it’s basically the on switch for the GLP-1 hormone. Good protein sources are things like chicken, turkey, eggs, Greek yogurt, protein shakes, etc. The second thing I do is balance my meals. This means that each meal includes protein, healthy fats, and fiber. By balancing my meals, my digestion slows and prevents blood sugar spikes. When your blood sugar is stable, your hunger is stable.
As I said before, the third thing I do is avoid constant insulin spikes. Instead of grazing all day, I eat intentional meals and give my body time between them. The time in between helps with improved insulin sensitivity, supports fat burning, and allows GLP-1 to do it’s job. Finally, I support my body from the inside out. This is where my Plexus Slim and Trim combo, as well as the Gut Health System come into play. These systems are designed to improve the gut microbiome, support blood sugar balance, keep cravings under control, and it gives me natural GLP-1 support. When your gut is healthy and your blood sugar is stable, your hunger cues finally start to make sense.
Why This Finally Clicks
If you feel like you’re always hungry, it’s not a willpower problem, it’s a hormone and blood sugar problem. Stopping the insulin spike all day, while prioritizing protein and supporting your gut and metabolism, everything changes. You don’t need to snack…your body finally feels full!
