I participated in a campaign for Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Zact mobile.  I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

It seems like kids want things so much earlier nowadays.  My son is nine and he wants an iphone.  He thinks that because some of his friends have an iphone, that means he should have one.  However, I am concerned about giving him that much power in his own hands like that.  Zact mobile, which is a no contract mobile service that can be found nationwide, takes those concerns into consideration by giving the parent FULL parental control over the amount of text messages that can be sent, amount of data that can be used, and my personal favorite…I can set up “curfews” so my son couldn’t use the phone during meal times or bed time.  That is real genius right there!

With an average monthly bill of $22 (you can’t beat that!) and their awesome parental controls, it is no wonder that Zact was awarded the seal of approval from The National Parenting Center!

If you have any information on how to help keep kids safe online and/or with their cell phones, please share in the comments. It’s important that we parents stick together and share information when we get it. They always say it takes a village and when it comes to the ever changing cell phone apps and the internet, it definitely takes that village!
