Tiffany Giardina CD Review

Finally! Some music that we can let our kids listen to and not be appalled at what is being said in the lyrics. Tiffany Giardina may only be 15 years old, but she has accomplished a lot in her 15 years here on Earth. From her website:

“…the songs are also featured on the Another Cinderella Story soundtrack, starring Selena Gomez and Drew Seeley”

“She’s already hot on the press trail stopping by high profile magazines such as Seventeen, Popstar!, J-14, M, Astro Girl, Quiz Fest, and Twist”

“Past credits include Off-Broadway roles in the beloved musical, Annie, where she played Molly as well as roles in Peter Pan and The Sound of Music. She has also appeared in national commercials for Sherwin-Williams Paint, Major League Baseball, and Cheerios and in comedy sketches on Saturday Night Live and the Late Show with David Letterman.”

As if all of that above is not enough, Tiffany is also involved with many charities, helping them out as much as she can. Good, clean lyrics and a positive role model!

Bella Sara Team Mom Review

Not too long ago, I had the opportunity to review The Bella Sara website and trading cards where there is this magical world of horses that girls (or boys if they are interested) can collect trading cards for and then go online and enter the code on the card and their horse comes to life on their computer screen.

Well Bella Sara has graciously allowed Team Mom reviewers the opportunity to review two new products; Bella Sara Miniatures Series 1 and Bella Sara Treasures.

I’ll start with the Bella Sara Miniatures Series 1. Here is a little info from Bella Sara:

– Bella Sara, the most successful trading card product ever created for girls, features horse-themed fantasy cards that offer positive, inspirational messages.

– Miniatures introduces a brand new product line of 20 velvety horses from the land of North of North for you to collect, trade display and cherish.

– Miniatures brings a tangible third diminsion to the magical horses of Bella Sara that can also be experienced through trading cards and in online and video game worlds.

– Included in each Miniatures pack are one random velvety horse, a random bonus code redeemable online, and a full-color checklist.

OK let’s get down to the nitty gritty. Here is what I liked about the Miniatures collection:

  • They’re cute. I could totally seem them on a little girls shelf in her room.
  • It’s a nice idea about trading them. Being that it is completely random as to which one you are getting when you buy the Miniatures, trading them insures that each little girl and her friends get the horses that they need and want.
  • The price is right (suggested retail price of $1.99) and makes for a wonderful stocking stuffer idea.

Here is what I did not like about the Miniatures collection:

  • The size. They are so tiny that I have visions of stepping on these things in the middle of the night, because really…what kid picks up ALL their toys ALL the time???
  • The velvety feel kind of creeps me out. Not sure why…but it does. My daughter, on the other hand, loved how they felt.
  • I don’t care for the fact that it is random when you purchase them as to which one you are actually getting. I know my kids would have melt downs if they were really wanting a particular one and ended up with one that they already had 5 of.
  • In each package, you have a sheet that shows all 20 of the horses offered with a little box that you can check off to keep track of which ones you have. I wish that there was a check mark or an X in the box showing which horse you got. It took me a minute to find one of the horses I had only because the color of the spots on the horse in the picture was not the same as the colors on the horse that I actually got.

Would I buy this for my daughter? I suppose if it was something she was totally into and would just die if she didn’t have it (haha), but I wouldn’t willingly buy them to get her interested into it. Maybe if they changed the size of them I would.

Bella Sara Miniatures Series 1 Collection becomes available on March 3rd.

Now for the Bella Sara Treasures. Now these, I really like. These are like the Pokemon cards for girls. Only each card has an inspirational message on it. For example, one of the cards I got says “listen to those who encourage you, and encourage those who listen”. I think it is VERY important to instill positive messages into our daughters and what better way than with something that they are interested in, is popular with their friends, and fun to collect and play?

A little from Bella Sara:

– Treasures is the eighth series in the popular Bella Sara line, which has sold more than 55 million cards to date.

– Treasures brings a new element to with more printable activities including bonus codes, coloring pages, wallpapers, a poster and jigsaw puzzles.

– This series features rare jewels, amazing natural wonders, historical artifacts and fantastic magical items, to explore and cherish.

– Starting February 27th through April 30th, the website, is giving fans a chance to win an exciting Treasure Hunt Party of their very own!

Like I mentioned above, I really really like the Bella Sara trading cards, specifically the Treasures series. Other things I liked about the Treasures Series are:

  • The price. The suggested retail price is $2.99, making the Treasures Series a nice stocking stuffer, addition to a birthday present, etc.
  • The positive messages that each card has.
  • The ability to enter a code online and bring your horse on your card to life.
  • The stickers and tattoos that come with each Treasures pack add even more fun to the Bella Sara collection.

I can’t say there is honestly anything that I did not like about the Treasures collection. My kids (son and daughter) both love the cards. My daughter more so than my son, but that is to be expected. My daughter puts them in her play purse and carries them all over the house.

The Bella Sara Treasures trading cards are also available on March 3rd.

Safety Caps…Review and GIVEAWAY!

One of the first things I did when I found out I was pregnant with my first child was baby proof my house. I bought those little plug covers and covered every outlet in my house. Never once did I think that the item I was putting into my outlet to protect my child, could be potentially dangerous. Neither did George DeCell, creator of Safety Caps. However, when his daughter Sage choked on one of those little plug covers, George knew he needed to come up with something that didn’t cause another child to experience what he and his daughter did. That’s when Safety Caps came about.

Immediately upon receiving the Safety Caps in the mail, I compared them to the standard plug covers. Almost immediately it was clear that the Safety Caps were a much better and much safer product. Aside from being larger, it is also clearer than the standard outlet covers. This is a huge plus. My kids are constantly trying to pull those things out of the plug. Which kinds of defeats the purpose of covering the plug (well…somewhat). The clearer plug literally blends in very nicely with any color outlet cover.

Qlubb – Team Mom Review

How would you like to be able to run a group at your child’s school, in your neighborhood, at work, or keep track of your family schedules AND be able to actually enjoy the group you are running or the activities you are going to? I don’t know about you, but I tend to get stressed out when I have to constantly remind people of everything, sending countless emails or making a million and one phone calls, which then just leaves me completely not wanting to have anything to do with whatever it is I am planning.

Well that’s where this awesome new site, Qlubb comes into the picture. I’ve messed around with the site for a little while now, and while I am the only person in my group, I can really see how this site can be beneficial for a whole slew of different organizations (PTA, busy family schedules, sport team schedules, etc). You have the ability to add people to your Qlubb group, delegate tasks to group members, eliminate all the back and forth emails or phone tag…and all of this is done on your very own secure site for your group.

What I liked about Qlubb:

  • The site is very easy to navigate…there are buttons for each thing you need to do (add members, add events, etc.
  • You can personalize your group site with pictures and change the text to make it suitable for your group.
  • Your main page has all the upcoming and ongoing events right in plain site so as soon as you sign on to your page, you see what you need to see.

What I didn’t like about Qlubb:

  • Not at all the fault of the site. I didn’t like that I was not able to test out the site to it’s fullest potential.

So…will I use Qlubb when the time comes that my schedule is busier with my kids or suggest it to others that I know can use it? Absolutely.

Is Your Bladder Weak?

It’s OK. I’ll admit it…I’ve peed my pants before. Did I do it on purpose? Of course not. Who pees their pants on purpose? And please, if you are into that and get off on peeing your pants for some sort of weird and twisted pleasure…just move on. This blog post will be of no help or interest to you!

But for those of you that have this problem, whether it is a new problem since having kids, or an older problem that you have dealt with by using a variety of products out there on the market, this post is for you! Tena, formally Serenity, teamed up with exercise expert Kari Bo to launch a revolutionary (and free!!!) pelvic health program called, Core Wellness. This revolutionary program involves the PELVICORE technique which is a quick and easy 20 minute routine that has been found to CURE bladder weakness in over 60% of women who have tried it! Not only has it been proven to cure bladder weakness, but it has also been shown to tone the tummy and improve posture. And one thing my mother has always told me, if you stand up straight and don’t slouch, you look thinner…so there’s another plus!

Watch this quick video about Core Wellness:

I leave you with some great tips from Tena:

Don’t Sweat It: More than 70% of mild bladder incontinence can be improved through simple muscle exercises that contract and relax the pelvic floor muscles. These exercises require minimal effort and can be done anywhere- in the office, on the subway or while at home watching TV – no gym clothes required.

Maintain a Normal Weight: Carrying excess weight increases the likelihood of weak pelvic floor muscles and can also worsen bladder weakness.

Let Someone Else Do the Heavy Lifting: Lifting heavy objects incorrectly can weaken your pelvic floor. Lift heavy objects safely by bending your knees and using your leg muscles.

The Pelvic Health Diet: Certain foods, such a tomato based and spicy foods, can irritate the bladder. Caffeine and alcoholic beverages also contribute to leakage, so stick to bladder-friendly liquids such as water, apple juice, grape juice and cranberry juice.

Don’t Let Bladder Weakness Hold You Back: Bladder weakness affects one out of four women. You are not alone in this condition and it doesn’t have to control your life. Pelvic floor exercises can greatly improve your pelvic health, but if you’re still hesitant to stray too far from a bathroom, consider a discreet liner or pad to help give you confidence through the day. Visit for more tips and to check out all your options.
