Safety Caps…Review and GIVEAWAY!

One of the first things I did when I found out I was pregnant with my first child was baby proof my house. I bought those little plug covers and covered every outlet in my house. Never once did I think that the item I was putting into my outlet to protect my child, could be potentially dangerous. Neither did George DeCell, creator of Safety Caps. However, when his daughter Sage choked on one of those little plug covers, George knew he needed to come up with something that didn’t cause another child to experience what he and his daughter did. That’s when Safety Caps came about.

Immediately upon receiving the Safety Caps in the mail, I compared them to the standard plug covers. Almost immediately it was clear that the Safety Caps were a much better and much safer product. Aside from being larger, it is also clearer than the standard outlet covers. This is a huge plus. My kids are constantly trying to pull those things out of the plug. Which kinds of defeats the purpose of covering the plug (well…somewhat). The clearer plug literally blends in very nicely with any color outlet cover.

Qlubb – Team Mom Review

How would you like to be able to run a group at your child’s school, in your neighborhood, at work, or keep track of your family schedules AND be able to actually enjoy the group you are running or the activities you are going to? I don’t know about you, but I tend to get stressed out when I have to constantly remind people of everything, sending countless emails or making a million and one phone calls, which then just leaves me completely not wanting to have anything to do with whatever it is I am planning.

Well that’s where this awesome new site, Qlubb comes into the picture. I’ve messed around with the site for a little while now, and while I am the only person in my group, I can really see how this site can be beneficial for a whole slew of different organizations (PTA, busy family schedules, sport team schedules, etc). You have the ability to add people to your Qlubb group, delegate tasks to group members, eliminate all the back and forth emails or phone tag…and all of this is done on your very own secure site for your group.

What I liked about Qlubb:

  • The site is very easy to navigate…there are buttons for each thing you need to do (add members, add events, etc.
  • You can personalize your group site with pictures and change the text to make it suitable for your group.
  • Your main page has all the upcoming and ongoing events right in plain site so as soon as you sign on to your page, you see what you need to see.

What I didn’t like about Qlubb:

  • Not at all the fault of the site. I didn’t like that I was not able to test out the site to it’s fullest potential.

So…will I use Qlubb when the time comes that my schedule is busier with my kids or suggest it to others that I know can use it? Absolutely.

Is Your Bladder Weak?

It’s OK. I’ll admit it…I’ve peed my pants before. Did I do it on purpose? Of course not. Who pees their pants on purpose? And please, if you are into that and get off on peeing your pants for some sort of weird and twisted pleasure…just move on. This blog post will be of no help or interest to you!

But for those of you that have this problem, whether it is a new problem since having kids, or an older problem that you have dealt with by using a variety of products out there on the market, this post is for you! Tena, formally Serenity, teamed up with exercise expert Kari Bo to launch a revolutionary (and free!!!) pelvic health program called, Core Wellness. This revolutionary program involves the PELVICORE technique which is a quick and easy 20 minute routine that has been found to CURE bladder weakness in over 60% of women who have tried it! Not only has it been proven to cure bladder weakness, but it has also been shown to tone the tummy and improve posture. And one thing my mother has always told me, if you stand up straight and don’t slouch, you look thinner…so there’s another plus!

Watch this quick video about Core Wellness:

I leave you with some great tips from Tena:

Don’t Sweat It: More than 70% of mild bladder incontinence can be improved through simple muscle exercises that contract and relax the pelvic floor muscles. These exercises require minimal effort and can be done anywhere- in the office, on the subway or while at home watching TV – no gym clothes required.

Maintain a Normal Weight: Carrying excess weight increases the likelihood of weak pelvic floor muscles and can also worsen bladder weakness.

Let Someone Else Do the Heavy Lifting: Lifting heavy objects incorrectly can weaken your pelvic floor. Lift heavy objects safely by bending your knees and using your leg muscles.

The Pelvic Health Diet: Certain foods, such a tomato based and spicy foods, can irritate the bladder. Caffeine and alcoholic beverages also contribute to leakage, so stick to bladder-friendly liquids such as water, apple juice, grape juice and cranberry juice.

Don’t Let Bladder Weakness Hold You Back: Bladder weakness affects one out of four women. You are not alone in this condition and it doesn’t have to control your life. Pelvic floor exercises can greatly improve your pelvic health, but if you’re still hesitant to stray too far from a bathroom, consider a discreet liner or pad to help give you confidence through the day. Visit www.tena.us for more tips and to check out all your options.

Vacuum Cleaner Review

Bissell Lift Off Revolution Pet Vacuum

I was not too thrilled to find out that my vacuum broke. When you’re on a budget, the last thing you want to spend money on is something that you need, but don’t necessarily enjoy doing. But with two kids and a dog, vacuuming is not something I can skip doing. Now I would love to get a Dyson. My mil has the Dyson Animal and she loves it. However, spending that kind of money on a vacuum, right now, is just not in the cards. So I headed to Target. I knew nothing about the different vacuum brands. The only thing I did know was that I did not want a Eureka. That was the one I recently had that only lasted just over a year (such a piece of shit).

I spent almost 30 minutes or longer looking at each and every vacuum and going over what I liked and disliked about each one. Every time I thought I found one I liked, I kept going back to this Bissell. I had it narrowed down between this Bissell and a Hoover. While the Hoover was a little less, I just couldn’t stop looking at this particular vacuum. Why? For one simple reason…This vacuum was both an upright AND a canister. I can detach the canister and carry it for easy cleaning of those hard to reach areas and for doing the stairs. Not only that, but Target had the vacuum on sale for $169.99 PLUS you get a $20.00 Target gift card!

Now I’ve used this vacuum twice since getting it (got it on Saturday) and I love it! You can feel how well it suctions and it really cleans the carpet well! It was almost gross how full the dirt compartment was after the first vacuuming. And I vacuum every day!

I would definitely recommend this vacuum to anyone and everyone. Definitely shop around and see which store has it for the cheapest price or who may be offering some other incentive like the store gift card.

I am the PROUD owner of…

Just about the coolest boots in the world! Well to me anyway. Yesterday we spent a LOOOOOOONG family day at the mall. I got my haircut while Dan and the kids walked around waiting for me, anxiously awaiting a trip to see Santa.

After my haircut, we decided to get lunch at Max & Erma’s. We sit down and Dan pulls out…my very own pair of Croc boots!!!! I was so surprised! He bought me a GPS thing for my car and that was my Christmas present. But he knew how much I liked the Croc boots and decided to get me a pair. My toes love him! I’m not quite sure if I am supposed to wear socks with them or not. I did yesterday, but would love to be barefoot in them…though they have that liner in it and I don’t want stinky boots…oh well it doesn’t matter! Socks, no socks…I’m just so happy to be able to wear Crocs 365 days a year now!!!

Aren’t they cute??? They are oh so comfortable and come in a lot of great colors (though I don’t care for the black so much…which is the color I originally wanted). It just looks weird to me (no offense to anyone who bought black). Here is the best part…Dan got me a little camel thing to put on each boot up at the top! I collect camels. I can probably guarantee that NO ONE has boots like mine with the camel! (most people that bought these boots, bought this pretty flower to put on it).
